Christmas is coming!!!!!

Here is what to remember for this week:

1) Christmas program: TUESDAY, DEC. 14 **Please arrive a little early if you can (between 6:15 and 6:25) so that you can bring your child to the bathroom and then drop them off in the kindergarten room. Attire is up to you, it is a Christmas program so they can dress up if they want to. Please bring a half dozen goodies to share. Refreshments will be served after the program.

2) We are celebrating December birthdays on Wednesday and Thursday.

3) Grade 3 Buddies will be Wednesday or possibly Friday morning.

4) Last day of school is Friday. School will resume on TUESDAY, Jan. 4, 2011.

5) MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a really fun holiday with family and friends!

Coming up....

1) Green Day....Wednesday and Thursday....wear or bring something green!!!
2) Remember to return the interview request form for the vice principal, Matthew Beimers as soon as possible.
3) Preschool Christmas Program...families and friends welcome...Tuesday, Dec. 14. We have a few more invites if you need them...just ask!
4) Please send mitts and boots so we can go outside in good weather..thanks!
5) Looking for donations of plain gingerbread men, candy and icing for next week...let us know if you can bring something in!

School is closed due to snow....enjoy the long weekend and we will see you next week!

Reminders and Events

1) This Wednesday and Thursday is BLUE day....WEAR something blue or BRING something blue to preschool.
2) Wednesday is also the "all school read in day"....which means, come to school in your pajamas!!
3) We will be getting a visit from Mrs. Kennedy's dad next week to show us what a firefighter looks like in full gear...we will be talking about fire safety and practicing fire and safety drills
4) If your child's birthday is in November, we will celebrate next Wednesday and Thursday. Let us know if you are bringing something to hand out to the class.
5) If school is cancelled due to snow in future, check this blog, school website or listen to CKNW.

Short week!

Hello again....a few reminders before the long weekend:

1) Wednesday morning we will be meeting our Grade 3 buddies.
2) School closed Thursday to Friday for Teacher's Convention. We will be attending workshops at Pacific Academy.
3) It's the long weekend which means we won't see you until next week... :(
4) Field trip to Pumpkin Patch at Rondriso Farms...NEXT WEEK

Final Days of Preschool 2009-2010

Wow!! Hard to believe it is the last week of preschool for the season. Here are some things to remember for this week:

1) Father's Day Event: Tuesday night at 6:30PM at the Primary Campus Gym. Should last about an hour or so. Please RSVP if you haven't already done so.

2) June/July/August birthday celebrations: Wednesday and Thursday

3) Year end slideshow, Wed/Thurs: Please join us if possible for the last 20 minutes or so of class time to watch a slideshow of the kids hard at play at preschool.

4) Last classes: Wednesday and Thursday

THANKYOU for another fun year, have a fabulous summer!!

SPORTS DAY IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see a bit of blue sky by my place and it is not raining right now so let's go for it!!!!

Mid-May Events

Hi everyone! We are really enjoying our unit on Dinosaurs. Ask your child what herbivores and carnivores are!

Here are a few reminders for this week:

1) Backwards Day--Wednesday and Thursday
2) Scholastic Orders Due this week so we can get the orders back before school is out.
3) Victoria Day Monday, May 24--school closed, have a great weekend!
4) Upcoming Dates: June 3, Sport's Day, all classes

Coming up....

Hi everyone! Here is what's happening this week:

1)Letter U--up, umbrella, uncle, underwear

2)We need more worms for our worm garden!

3)We are learning new songs and practicing some oldies but goodies for Mother's Day Tea...stay tuned!

4)Encourage your child to bring in signs of spring to share with the class...(ie: buds, flowers, green leaves...etc)

5)Thursday: Field trip to Green Timbers for TTH AM class. Meet promptly at Surrey Nature Centre at 9:30. Travel west on 96th Ave. towards Fraser Hwy. Turn right at the Surrey Nature sign and follow the driveway all the way to the end, just follow the signs straight ahead. You will see some small buildings and that is where we will meet, there is lots of parking. Dress rain or shine, snack provided. If weather is nice you are free to stay and enjoy the park.

**Please let us know if you will not be able to make it, so we know not to wait for you!

6)We are trying to go outside when it is not raining, but the playground is still wet and mucky at times. Rubber boots are best to send for this time of year, they keep your child's feet dry and they are easier for them to put on which saves times! Thanks!

It's Grandparents Day on Thursday, April 8. Grandparents of children attending on Thursday morning are welcome to drop in for a short visit. This is an all school event happening from 9-12.

Dig for those worms now, we are starting our worm garden this week...

Mrs. denHoed is feeling better and we are happy to have her back at school. Mrs. Yzerman will be away Friday. Have a great week!

Spring Break has arrived!

Hi everyone. Here is a slideshow for you to enjoy over Spring break! Have a relaxing couple weeks off and we'll see you on March 22! Remember, our Carillon Music field trip will be happening that week too, March 24 and 25. See you soon!

A busy week in February!

Here are some reminders:

Tuesday: Library storytime 9:00 AM (come to preschool at regular time, parental assistance not needed, but you are welcome to stay)

Wednesday and Thursday: Olympic theme day, wear Olympic colors! Also, bring in your class photo envelopes with $6 for class photos to be taken at the beginning of each class. The fee includes a memory book which you will receive at the end of the school year.

Next week is birthday celebrations and a Professional Day for the school. We will be attending a preschool focus day in Langley with other Christian school preschool teachers.

We are practicing fire drills this week in the gym. Although we have reassured the children that we are just practicing and that we will help them get out safely in an emergency, some may talk about it at home and have more questions.

Mrs. Yzerman will be away on Wednesday. Mrs. Jan will take her place for the day.
